ACCES Association

Since 2004, the organization has assisted a number of local governments to establish cross border partnerships and maintain transparent public communication.

The main objectives of the Access Association are: promoting and popularizing culture in all its forms, supporting in all forms of economic and social, multicultural, sports, multiethnic, religious and multinational collaboration, sustainable economic and social development. Since its establishment in 2004, the Access Association has focused on the implementation of projects focused on the needs of the community, socio-cultural programs for young people, the development of collaboration between communities, etc. Working in a border area, the association has gained valuable experience and expertise in cross-border development issues by supporting local organizations and authorities, NGOs, etc. for the establishment and development of cross-border partnerships and the implementation of relevant collaboration models for solving their problems. Last but not least, the organization has developed an excellent communication network and relationships with media representatives.

Implemented projects

By being a reliable and experienced partner, the NGO managed to successfully implement the Phare CBC project “ProColaborare” (2005-2006). As the Lead Project partner, the Association successfully set up communication links among some local authorities and communities along the both sides of the Danube River and encouraged a process of overcoming physical and social barriers.  

Another interesting initiative was the Terra Common Project (2011-2012) with the following objectives: developing personal and trusting relationships between members of rural communities in Ciocanesti, Romania and Alfatar, Sitovo and Kainardzha, Bulgaria through mutual exchanges in the fields of culture, crafts and sports, promoting innovative activities to preserve cultural identity and traditions, stimulating the creation of common products based on culture, crafts and efficient use of local cross-border resources.

The project “ICT-force of change in education” (2011-2013) aimed to support investments for the introduction of modern learning tools in schools.

The project „19th Century Fashion Show“ (2013-2014) aims to find solutions to some of the problems of local youth. Glavinitsa, Bulgaria and place. Călărași County Kindergarten, offering young people the opportunity to establish contacts and collaborate based on their knowledge of traditions and folklore.

The project “Career paths for labor mobility for young people” implemented in 2017-2018 together with the University of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences Bucharest, “Anghel Kanchev” Ruse University and the Calarasi Chamber of Commerce. The project aimed at cross-border cooperation and the integration of youth employment institutions and the elimination of barriers to collaboration through common internet-based tools and youth employment events.

The “Raised on Music” project, implemented in 2020, was an effort to make the phenomenon of oral music accessible to young and very young audiences through an educational platform with original content, co-created with members of communities where there is still an active generation of musicians.

The “Fiddle Handbook” project, implemented in 2021, was a continuation of the „Raised on Music“ project.   Its proposes an approach to accessibility and information on the elements and practices of the intangible cultural heritage, focusing on the phenomenon of oral music, narrated by teenagers from the families of the last traditional musicians. The project is mainly addressed to young (20-30 years old) and very young (14-20 years old) audiences, through an educational platform with original, multimedia content, co-created with teenagers, being open to contributions from the general public. The online space created by the project leads to the formation of a network of adolescents, researchers and actors in the cultural-educational fields who support the traditions.

Access also partnered with the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber Of Commerce And Industry and participated in the Phare CBC project “Mobile services of consultancy for SME’s of the cross border region to set up personal links between cross-border businesses and local authorities. 

Based on this experience, the NGO will contribute to the current project by assisting and encouraging the establishment of the FoodNet networking, exchange of information and database among the four FoodNet information points and the logistics of the public events.

Thanks to its reliable relations with local authorities, businesses and media, Access will also be responsible for organizing and managing PR events and publicity.
